2024 EXTRA LIFE UNITED TOURNAMENT WINNERS ANNOUNCED FOR STORMONT VAIL HEALTH
An Extra Life United (ELU) gaming tournament took place at the Ignite: Peer to Peer Leadership Conference this past July 18th-21st. A total $150,000 prize pool gave game gamers the opportunity to win funds for their selected local member Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals.
In the end, over 100 Extra Lifers playing for 55 different CMN member hospitals, including Stormont Vail Health, were able to win funds for their hospitals. There were 4 individuals who played for Stormont Vail Health who placed in the gaming tournaments and several others who secured winnings through obtaining ELU bucks, which are tickets that hold a monetary value.
The tournament featured the games, Love Letter, Party Animals, Golf with your friends, Unrailed, Star Realms, Spiderheck, and Shifting Stones.
Love Letter is a tabletop card game of risk, deduction, and luck. Designed by Seiji Kanai, the game features simple rules that create dynamic and fun player interactions. Players attempt to deliver their love letter into the Princess’s hands while keeping other players’ letters away.
Player Robert Brown-b0bs0n0fb0b got 3rd place and won $900 for Stormont Vail Health
Party Animals is a physics-based competitive brawler video game where players play as various animals including puppies, kittens, ducks, bunnies, sharks, dinosaurs and even unicorns. Animals can punch, toss, jump, kick, and headbutt each other. They are also able to pick up an assortment of weapons. Upon taking a certain amount of damage, players are temporarily knocked out. In most cases, they recover and return to the fight, unless they are tossed off the map or into various hazards.
Players Dustin Browing-felixdacat76. John Hefner-jph98, and Corey Lada-RockGhost all tied for 13th place, winning $100 each, for a total of $300 for Stormont Vail Health.
Players Robert Brown-b0bs0n0fb0b, Rob Peters-TheRobWarlock, Dustin Browning-felixdacat76, Spencer Lada-ComegaGhost, and Nick Engstrom-nickthenerd, obtained ELU bucks for Stormont Vail Health, the combined total of which was $470.
The Grand total for Stormont Vail Health was $1,670!
