Ignite: A Peer-to-Peer Leadership Conference takes place in Kansas City!

The Ignite: Peer to Peer Leadership Conference took place at the Downtown Marriott in Kansas City, MO, July 18th through the 21st. Typically held as separate events, the Extra Life United and Dance Marathon programs teamed up together to host a first ever combined event.

As part of the offerings, leadership sessions, community bonding, and a knockout Extra Life United tournament took place as players were able snag cash for their Extra Life fundraising pages.

A few highlights:

• Powerful cause connections – and the ability to see, hear, and feel how your fundraising is making a positive impact on children’s healthcare.   
• The annual Extra Life United gaming tournament featuring multiple video games, tabletop games, dexterity challenges, and creative competitions to win prize money for their local member hospitals. Several Northeast Kansas area gamers, played for Stormont Vail Health.
• Celebration of fundraising and leadership excellence.  
• FUN!

It was incredible weekend at the first Ignite: Peer-to-Peer Leadership Conference! Passionate gamers gathered to share ideas, inspire each other, and ignite the spark for another amazing year raising critical funds.

The annual Extra Life United tournament featured a $150,000 USD prize pool with winnings going to the winners’ selected local member hospitals. 141 Extra Lifers won funds at Extra Life United benefiting 55 member hospitals!
