Local Walmart and Sam’s Club stores raise over $104,000 for Stormont Vail Health, Children’s Miracle Network

Each year, funds raised by Walmart and Sam’s Clubs impact each of the 170 Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, which treat 1 in 10 children across North America. Hospitals use the funds based on what they need most — providing lifesaving equipment and research, supporting top therapy programs and providing charitable care.

In Northeast Kansas, once again, caring Walmart and Sam’s Club associates, customers, and members went above and beyond. This time, in 2023, by raising over $104,000 for the Stormont Vail Health, Children’s Miracle Network. Walmart founder Sam Walton once said it himself, “If any one thing characterizes our Walmart associates and company, it is this philosophy of caring and sharing.” That remains true today, as this is another example of how individuals working together can make a huge impact within the local communities where they work, live and serve.

At select times of the year, associates asked customers and members at the register to help kids live better. And throughout the year, in-store associate driven fundraising took place, featuring several creative ideas, from selling home made products to having fun contests. One Walmart associate said, “It feels good to know the money we raise helps children in our area. We actually get to see where the money goes. We love being able to do fundraising away from the registers because we get to engage more with customers and have fun doing it.”
